Our top-selling Adirondack Chairs feature a sculpted seat, and curved back slats for maximum comfort! They are made entirely out of 5/4 Western Red Cedar. (Gliders seem to be the top choice.)
The parts are held firmly in place using 1 3/4" stainless steel fasteners, and special adhesive, to keep the chair rigid, even when put through -40 to 120 degree temperature.
We use mainly select Western Red Cedar as our feedstock of choice, since it is simply the finest outdoor building material available!
Some of our customers are requesting local red cedar grown in the midwest. We offer this option as well, dependent on availability of the wood. |
The resin repels many insects, and this cedar features an high thermal factor. Western Red Cedar has 80% of the tensile strength of Oak, and is pound-for-pound stronger than steel!
Western Red Cedar is also an appearance-grade wood. When properly finished, the grains stand out, providing high aesthetic appeal, and long-lasting durability.
It is not uncommon for a properly finished Adirondack Chair to last many years, there are many in existence to prove it. Naturally, these furniture pieces often become family heirlooms, and are handed down generation after generation, becoming sought after prizes for collectors. |
